Jesus in Anger – Part2
In the Christian circles many matured beleivers would say that God does not live in a building, but in the hearts of men, True. But there was a moment Jesus gave importance to the building which was considered as God’s temple.
When He was in the temple at Jerusalem, he got angry at the buyers, sellers and money exchangers who were trading in the temple and he drove them out in anger.
Mark 11:15-18 says, “On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’?But you have made it
a den of robbers’.”
Dear friends, when a place is considered as the church or the temple of God, it is important to keep the place consecrated. God may not permanently reside there but when His children who are the temples of God gathere there God dwells among them.
If Jesus would find any robbery and unholy trading and dealings, He will drive the persons out of the temple. Let us be aware of such acts especially in the church were we gather.
Peace be with you!
