Overestimation of our Giants
When the twelve spies of Israel went to spy on the land, they came back with a good report about the land, but Ten spies brought a discouraging report about the people. They highlighted to all Israelites that there were giants, sons of Anak. and these spies said they looked like a gross hopper before them in their eyes and in their own eyes as well.
Anyone hearing this report would imagine that all the Canaanites were giants and dangerous, isn’t it? But in reality, the spies had seen only a few giants, in fact, they have mentioned only three giant names. But the exaggeration was so much that it disheartened the people to move forward to inherit the land.
Numbers 13:22 says, “They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived.
My dear friends, it was possible that there were few hundred or a few thousand giants living in the land of Canaan, not all of them, but the Israelites were 603,500 soldiers plus God with them. They failed to see this strength and the power of God with them, rather they overestimated the giants’ power and failed to inherit the beautiful blessed land, and died in the wilderness.
Many times in life we overthink and overestimate our giants and situations, consequently we fail to inherit the blessing the Lord had kept for us. My dear friends remember his powerful hand and meditate on all his goodness and earlier miracles he has done for you. And prepare to face the giants and drive them out.
Peace be upon you!
