SIN FROM OUR WORDS

When we are with somebody who is not very close to us, we realize after a while that there is nothing more to talk about and we go silent. But when we are with our friends or close relatives we talk a lot. Especially when we are excited, we are very eloquent. Isn’t it?

Recently, during a celebration at our home an elderly person in the family was excited about the situation and said something spontaneously that hurt the other person, and it ruined the whole harmony. The happy time became a cold war.

Proverbs 10:19 says, “In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.”

My dear friends, I believe the biggest temptation many people including God’s saints fail is the urge to speak jokingly or coarsely when we are with our comrades. But sin is not absent when we speak so. May the Lord give us wisdom to restrain from speaking so.

Peace be upon you!
