Should we follow tradition?

In Christianity following tradition or breaking tradition is an another severe topic discussed among people. Those who are Christian for generation are very strict to it’s tradition.

All Traditional practices are not bad, certain traditions lead us in disciplined life. At the same time some traditions hinder our spiritual growth in Christ.

But do you know Paul said something about this? He said following or not following traditions does not matter, but only obeying the command of the Lord Jesus is matters.

In 1 Corinthians 7:19 he said, “Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commands is what counts.”

Circumsision was a serious tradition practice among Jews and some of the ancient Christian community. But Paul made it very clear that either following or not following doesn’t matter, but only keeping God’s commands is what counts.

So let us focus on following and obeying God’s commands given to us and rise up from these petty issues like traditional practices.
