Is Poverty the will of God?

In Christianity, the most conflicting topic is Prosperity. Some say you should not preach prosperity and those who preaches it are False teachers. And some say Christians should live in abundance. Which one is true?

I just want to put my learning here.

As I studied bible Iunderstand Prosperity is not wrong and living prosperous life is the will of God for any of His children. Only Prosperity is wrong and focusing your entire life and teaching toward prosperity is wrong.

Jesus and His Kingdom should be your Prime and Primary purpose of your life. Our very life is saved for the eternal purpose and not for temporal riches of this world. However, as long as you are in this world, God is pleased to bless you and prosper you.

God called Abraham for eternal purpose that is to create the Nation of God’s people through him. And He blessed Abraham and he was richest man. God called David a Shepherd boy to raise eternal Kingdom and Jesus in his family line, David was mighty and richest King. Elijah and Elisha were called to prophesy God’s words and they lived in unstopped provision during famine and they influenced even the economy of the country.

The biggest point to note here about these God’s men is none of them were greedy and focused on prosperity but their focus was on God and His purposes. However God has blessed them and prospered them and made their names great on the earth.

My friend, Poverty is not God’s will, But prospering His children is God’s pleasing will.

Let us seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well. (Mt. 6:33.)

Peace be unto you!!
