Who is Jesus to You?
Once Jesus asked His disciples “Who do you say I am?”, and Peter answered ‘You are Christ (Messiah), the Son of the living God.’
After His resurrection, He met two disciples who were going to the place called Emmaus, He asked them what are you discussing?, They replied, “About Jesus of Nazareth, He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. (Lk.24:19)”
I wonder at the reply of these two disciples, because they are mentioning “Jesus was a prophet, but not as Messiah”. Do you know why? In Luke 24:21 these disciples were telling Him “we thought Jesus is the redeemer of Israel, but He is dead now”. It means once they believed that Jesus was Messiah but because the situations changed and they did not saw Jesus alive yet, they changed their belief and said Jesus was a Prophet.
I hope all you who read this devotion are firmly believing Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. But, Is your belief and faith changing when your circumstances changes? Is Jesus still your Lord when he seem not alive and your prayers are not answered?
If you change your belief and faith in Him, then there is no difference between you and the foolish disciples of Emmaus. Be firm in your faith my friend and be sure that Jesus is your Lord and God in all the seasons of your life.
Peace be unto you.
