Do not offend the weak

Among the believers there are many mature and stable people available, that is good. But the problem is, their maturity and knowledge can spoil other new believers or weak believers.

For example some older believers thinking watching movies (Decent family movies only) are not wrong. But, what if someone who is new in Christ knows this older and stronger believer watches movies, he might get convinced to watch movies too, and eventually he might fall in to sin.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 8:11, “And because of your knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?” He is telling because of your knowledge why do you offend a weak brother to fall into sin.

Let us simplify it, before having kids we used to live and do certain things or watch too much TV which may not be appropriate for the children when they are with us growing, right? We then give up and refrain ourselves from such things so that they will not follow that behaviour.

The same way, we should be more tender toward the new believers. Let us love and encourage and show our life as an example to the new and weak beleivers in Christ, so that they may be strengthened in Him.
