Where Is Miracles, Wonders & Signs?

Most of us having a spiritual desire that, the entire world to be saved and no one perished; and that is the will and of God too.

But why that’s not happening? Some of us sincerely pray for our country, our cities. Yet it seems our Prayer is hitting the Ceiling not Heaven.

May be we need a change in Prayer. As I study the bible I observed one thing and I would like to share it with you. I believe this will help the body of Christ to be more fruitful

Lets read, I Corinth. 12: 27- 31

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.

And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing , those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues.

Here we see, God has appointed in the body of Christ, Some Apostles, some Prophets and some teachers. We know in today’s Christian world there is no lack for Apostles, Prophets and Teachers. But what we are missing is workers of MIRACLES & those having gifts of HEALING.

We don’t see many Miracles and Healing in the Church as experienced by ancient believers.

We seriously lack this ministry in the body of Christ. Unless there is no Miracles and Healing performed consistently to deliver people, Christianity will be seen as one of the other religions though it is not a religion but the source of Eternal Life from God.

When we study the New Testament we can understand Miracles, Signs and Wonders played a major role to bring People to the Knowledge of God’s Power and Gospel.

Let me show you some scriptures about it.

  • 14:1,3 At Iconium Paul and Barnabas, spent considerable time there, speaking

boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders.

Here God confirmed the message of His grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders. So whenever you Preach the Gospel ask God to enable you to do Miraculous signs and wonders.

  • 8:5-8 Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ [Or Messiah] there.

When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said. With shrieks, evil [Greek: unclean] spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed. So there was great joy in that city.

 

Here in Acts Chapter 8: 5-8 we see When the People heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, THEY ALL PAID CLOSE ATTENTION. It is easy to draw close attention of the People to the word of Gospel if there are miraculous signs performed. Also the verse here says there was great joy in the City on account of People delivered from evil spirits, crippling and paralytics.

People are craving to be delivered from many kind of agony, they need not just words but deliverance filled word of God.

  • In Acts 2:22 Peter address the People “Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.

 

God has accredited Jesus among the people by miracles, wonders and signs. If we want the word of Gospel that we preach to people to be accredited and they should listen to us then there is a need for miracles, wonders and signs.

And we all know Jesus’ Ministry was full of and overflowing with Miracles, signs and wonders and that brought many to believe in him and put their faith in Him.

Jesus have set Model in everything that we seek guidance. He set a greatest example of successful Ministry. His Preaching and teaching were always accompanied with Miracles, signs, Healing and wonders that made him easy to bring many people to the Knowledge and Love of God.

  • 2:11 This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at

Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

 

  • 2:23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many

people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name. [Or and believed in him]

 

  • 6:1 Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea

of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias),Jn. 6:2 and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the miraculous signs he had performed on the sick.

 

Here as a result of his Miracle performances Disciples put their Faith, People Believed in him, and a great crowd of People followed him.

 

BUT, HOW CAN I PERFORM MIRACLES?

You may agree with me that there is need for Miracles, but how can we do it?

  • 12:31 says But eagerly desire the greater gifts.

 

We need to eagerly desire it and ask God to Give us. God is faithful to give us.

 

  • 6:8 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power , did great

wonders and miraculous signs among the people.

We need to be filled with God’s grace and Power, because the source of Miracles, Healing, Signs and Wonders are God.

 

  • Filling of the Holy Spirit: Filling of the Holy Spirit is necessary to perform such miracles. In acts Chapters 1 to 3 we see how Peter and other disciples were filled with Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues and saved many. Also he miraculously healed a man who was crippling from birth.

 

Only Holy Spirit can enable us to perform such miracles and confirm the word of Gospel spoken by us.

 

Above all my personal opinion is that our attitude in performing miracles & Healing is important. It should be motivated from the compassion over people to deliver them from their agony and escape them from eternal death.

 

It should not be for personal recognition, Money or Pride. It should be for the Glory of God and His Son Jesus Christ and People’s redemption.
