WHEN IT’S HARD TO SUBMIT TO GOD’S WILL, PRAY

Mt. 26:39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

Here in gethsemane, Jesus knew what God’s will was, but it was very hard for him to take the sins of whole world upon him and be punished for it on the cross. He prayed to God three times to take away that cup (this crucifixion) from Him. In the prayer He says ‘not as I will, but as you will’. That proves Jesus was in human nature. And this was the first time you can see in the bible God did not answer Jesus’ favorably. But He provided him strength to go through and accomplish His will. In Luke 22:43 we see “An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.” And Jesus submitted to this tough WILL which brought greater glory later.

In our life, sometime we may know what God’s will is, and it may not be easy, we cry to God to save us from it, but heaven may seem shut to us. If you know something is God’s will for you to go through and accomplish but it’s very daring, say to Him, ‘Not as I will, but as you will’, He will provide you strength to go through. And once you accomplish His will, you will bring greater glory to God and greater reward to you in eternity and in present.

Peace be unto you!
